The approach that I think is the easiest to follow and leads to the fastest diagnosis of why the car wont start is the approach in the B310 manual - which doesn't split the troubleshooting up - it has a section called 'Roadside Troubleshooting' which encompasses all types of reasons why an engine doesn't start and prioritizes them. This is an advancement that us humble B110 drivers should take advantage of.

Engine Troubleshooting A Series

Changed to "Engine Troubleshooting Overview", since by definition this Encyclopedia is about the Datsun 1200 which only used an A-series Engine. --ddgonzal 09:53, 13 Dec 2006 (WET)

This article duplicates "Engine Trouble Diagnoses"

At some point we need to merge this with the article Engine Trouble Diagnoses, or perhaps move sections of this into other articles like "Fuel Diagnoses", "Ignition Diagnoses", etc. One original plan for the Encyclopedia was to mirror the organization of the Nissan (factory) Datsun 1200 manual, which is set up a bit different. --ddgonzal 09:53, 13 Dec 2006 (WET)

Indeed a merge will need to be done

I saw the other diagnosis article whilst I was in progress on this one - I will have a read of the other article just to be sure all the points are covered in this article.

The other place some of the diagnosis points in the other article could be the "tips and tricks" article.--Mildman 01:17, 14 Dec 2006 (WET)

Also I'll have a look at the 1200 manual and see if it is similar. I like the idea of having the engine wont start troubleshooting all in one place though - this article can relate to a number of categories.

I didn't mind also saying troubleshooting is ONLY a process of elimination - as this implies it is easy and everyone have try it...a very minor point though.--Mildman 01:30, 14 Dec 2006 (WET)

I think this approach is more helpful...

I went back and had a read of the B110, B210, B310 workshop manuals to see how they handled troubleshooting.
