HIGH PERFORMANCE CAR FOR PEOPLE WHO ENJOY DRIVING
The new DATSUN 1000 2-Door Sedan is a sporty-looking car that meets the demands of today's motoring with speed, compact dimen sions, remarkable maneuverability and economy. This new sedan has restyling changes in its smart-looking front grille and distinctive new rear combination lamp. Ample power is provided by its world rally-tested 1000 cc engine that develops 62 hp and a max speed of 135 km/h (84 mph). This engine is also designed for amazingly low fuel consumption and minimum maintenance. The tilt-up front bucket seats and wide doors of this five seater sedan make getting in and out of the back seat easy. And its exceptionally small 8 meter. (26.2-foot) turning circle gives you superb maneuverability.
DATSUN 1000 2-DOOR SEDAN SPECIFICATIONS
Engine: Four-cylinder, in-line, water-cooled, O.H.V. Bore x stroke 73x59 mm (2.87×2.32 in). Displacement 988 cc (60.3cu in). Max. B.H.P. 62 at 6,000 r.p.m. (SAE). Compression ratio 8.5:1.
Transmission: 4 speeds forward and 1 reverse. All synchromesh. Direct floor gear shift. Gear ratio 1st 3.76, 2nd 2.17, 3rd 1.40, 4th 1.00 and reverse 3.64.

Suspension: Front: Independent wishbone type with transverse leaf spring and telescopic shock absorbers. Rear: Longitudinal semi elliptic leaf springs with telescopic shock absorbers. Steering: Recirculating ball type gear. Ratio 15.0:1.
Wheels & Tires: Steel disc wheels. 5.50-12-4 ply tires.
Brakes: Hydraulic. Front two-leading shoe. Rear leading and trailing shoe. Brake drum dia. 203.2 mm (8.0 in). Parking brake mechanically operated on rear wheels only.
Bodyworks: Two-door sedan. Five passenger. Bucket seats in front, bench seat in rear. All steel unitized body.
