Overview

To remove the sender, only a screwdriver and hammer is needed. Carefully drive the Lock Plate (retaining ring) anti-clockwise until loose.

There is a single Yellow wire on the sender. It goes forward to the dash Fuel Gauge. This wire is grounded through the sender resistance.
