For your headlamps to work at full potential -- whether stock or high power -- the must be aimed correctly.

With your 1200 on a flat, level surface, point the headlights at a wall 25 feet (8 meters) in front. Mark the wall with tape at the same height as the center of the headlights.

The center of the low-beam light should be 2" (2.5 cm) below this light, and a little to the right (for countries that drive on the right side of the road) or to the left (for countries that drive on the left).

The center of the High-beam lights should be centered on the line.

Then the screws to adjust the beam left-right or up-down.
