Datsun A-series engines use tubular steel pushrods. Oil does not travel through the pushrods, but are oiled from above by the Rocker arms.

Length
It is important to use the correct length for proper Rocker geometry. If the cylinder head is skimmed beyond the service limit, or the block deck is cut down, custom push rods are needed.
- 141.5 mm: A10
- 152 mm: short-deck engines (A12, A12A, and 1980 A13)
- ~167 mm: tall-deck engines (A14, A15, and 1974 A13)
