Before delivery of your new car, your Dealer provides a pre-delivery inspection and adjustment service specified by the factory and designed to ensure satisfactory performance. The following tables list the servicing required to keep your car operating at peak mechanical condition, and should be attended to as indicated, preferably by and authorized DATSUN DEALER.

Under Hood Maintenance Schedule

* Tune-up items
every 3 months
 * Change engine oil (& filter every other time)
every 6 months
 * Adjust intake & exhaust valve clearances
 * Check drive belt tension
 * Replace oil filter
 * Check oil system for leaks
every 2 years
 * Retighten cylinder head bolts
 * Retighten manifold & carburetor bolts
 * Check engine compression
Cooling System
* Change engine water every 6 months
OR 
* Change long-life engine coolant every 2 years
* Check cooling system hoses & connections every 12 months

* Check manifold inlet (carburetor spacer, connecting hoses, etc.)
* Check engine compartment hose connections
* Check fuel vapor control valves
* Change brake fluid every 12 months/12,000 miles
  * Later revised to every 24 months/24,000 miles 
* Check steering gear box oil, top up if necessary
* Check automatic transmission fluid level, top up if necessary
* Check battery specific gravity

* Check foot & parking brake operation
* Lubricate foot operated pedal bushings
* Grease parking brake linkage
* Check brake linings & drums for wear
* Check disc brake pads
* Overhaul brake cylinders & caliper assembly (30)
* Change or check transmission & differential gear oil level
  top up if necessary
* Check & retighten steering gear box & linkage
* Grease steering linkage ball joints
* Check shock absorber
