Sometimes called a "lower control arm" (LCA), the transverse link is the lower suspension member. The Tension Rod (castor rod) bolts to it, as do the Ball Joints. The inner end of the LCA bolts to the front Crossmember.

Upgrading

Late 1200 vs Early 1200

Later utes used the H85 LCA, *same as B310*. This started in 1975 October.

B310/A10

B310 (Sunny/210) LCA and A10 (Violet/Stanza) LCA are the same. Also same as late (1976 and up) 1200 and 120Y. They can be swapped with earlier B110 if used as a set (LCA + Balljoint + Tension Rod).

Stanza balljoints increase the track ~32mm -- too far to be registered in ACT.

B310 vs B110 lower arms

As for the lower arms, they are indeed the same length. With the exception of the diameter of the bolts which hold the ball joint to them ...they are the same. However the [B]310 arms are made of a slightly heavier construction, so it would be a toss up between strength verses weight, when chosing which arms to use.

Utes ... use the bigger bolts like the [B]310's.

Backfire said the ball joint bolt pattern is smaller in B110 vs B310.

Both fit late 1200 or Stanza/B310 LCAs. Depending on how much track you want.

The Stanza/B310 ball joint uses a larger diameter taper than B110.
