The Hot-Spark is for Datsun 1200-style Hitachi distributors. It is only $50 USD, and fits easily like a Pertronix Electronic Ignition unit. Is it any good? Don't know, has anyone tried it?

It should work on your 1200, assuming you have a Hitachi distributor and not a Mitsubishi unit. It will say on the distributor housing.

As with any electronic ignition system, you can use any 1980s Nissan electronic ignition coil. Or you can use the stock non-electronic coil with the stock ballast resistor. But an electronic coil is recommended for optimum performance.
