I actually saw an aftermarket turbo kit in a Popular Hot Rodding magazine, back in the seventies. They had one installed on a Datsun 1200 [A12]. It was a simple kit, no intercooler, and used the original carburetor. They ran the car in thr 1/4 mile before and after, and this crude simple kit, made a huge difference. If I remember right, it was about 1.5 seconds in the 1/4 mile.
